Memory Lane - The Childhood Days

The day i started scripting this is the day i felt I wanted my school days back. The evergreen part of my life. Unlike everyone I had the most cherishable moments in my school.

I was a different person by then, Take it easy attitude, No much  worries, Easy going, Talkative, Naughty, dynamic, lively, Energetic and a lazy studious extrovert Kid. Enjoyed leadership, challenges, Always listened to heart, never listens to what brain said.

No mobile no computer no internet. Yet life was so much meaningful and entertaining. Days were never forced to complete. Each days were precious. The days will always start with alarm, knowing mom had kept 15 mins faster always takes advantage of that extra 15 mins.

Sleep was always my prime preference, that 15 mins will always stretch beyond. Never bothered to bunk the school for my sleep. I still remember how i used to bunk morning session of school and submits a Fever Leave letter for half day ;)

Because of sleep most of the days will end up in fast and furious to school prayer in the last minute and thats my Pulsar that time. Most often a late comer and the only reason i used to give would be breakfast late because of my mom, they wont question much after that. I still have the diary which is completely filled in the late comer page with same reasons. The best part is being a SPL, i was supposed to conduct the school prayer. But nobody waits for my presence you know :-P, they just finishes it most of the time. Never mind, who wanna stand in the scorching sun. Sometimes punished with kneel down in the ground but still used to enjoy it, after all who wanna attend the first session of boring class.

The class room never actually interests me and i never liked being in constant place which actually bored me. So enjoyed the company of different people in different classes. Maths and CSc with Arun, Pradeep, Physics and Chemistry with Dhandapani, Hindi class with Imran Azhar, Some sessions with Vikash and Bunty.

Skit, Dance, Sports, Quiz, Excursions, science events, participated in all sorts of extra curricular events. Those dance practices on the terrace, Preparation for the science events, Sleepless nights before the excursions, Kattabomman Dialogue delivery modulations, all made the life more interesting. After all Life is not just about studies, Infact i never used to study in class. Most of the time ill be found talking to someone or scribbling in the note. I still remember how my Hindi Teacher used to send me out everyday because i talk in the class and disturb others.
The most memorable and funny things always happened in the chemistry labs. Playing with oxalic acid, Breaking the pipette and Burette and worrying how much they will ask us to pay, pouring the distilled water on somebody pant pocket, praying to get specific salt test, litmus paper colour change. With my Craziness I have sometime injured people so badly because of my naughtiness. Never wanna name them and remind them, they ll kick me for sure. But it was all for fun and even they didnt take it seriously, after all they are all my good friends.

The school days are not complete if you don't have or be part of a gang. I was also part of a gang. There were 2 gang one owned by Kamal Dasan and another by Kathiravan. I am not sure i was part of which gang. But being a part of a gang means MASS that time. Do you know when was it!!!. It was our 3rd Standard. I know its too late,  Ideally it should have been 1st standard isn't it. Those are the crazy days the punishment for any mistake by the Teacher is making the boys to sit between the girls. I still remember how i cried after making me sit between 2 girls for doing some mischievous in my 3rd standard, Who knows may be couple of years later i wouldn't have cried.

Assignments were never meant to be completed. There are always friends who can help u in that and with the bonus of good handwriting too. i owe a lot to those girls who has helped me in completing so many assignments and records.  Even Exams gave us lot of classical moments. One such memory in my 4th standard. I completed my Maths Exam early and as usual got bored and started to look around and while doing saw one guy solving a maths problem very seriously and to my curious started to look what he is writing. Oops the problem which i solved looked wrong to me all of a sudden, So what did i do, Simple just striked out my answer and started to copy from him. The guy is none other than our Naveen and to my luck the answer which he wrote is perfectly Wrong and the answer i striked out is extremely correct. What a moment i had when my Dad asked me why did i striked out the correct answer. Do you think i would have changed after that. Hehe Not at all, there was yet another moment in my high school. The physics lab public exam, luckily i got the simple test and out of confidence completed it very early and there was a girl who sat near me got the same experiment and she completed the test too.
The worst part is i saw her answer sheet and scared her telling all her answers are wrong. Still remember the sad look on her face after i told that, after all its the public exam. But i was very fortunate that day she was very confident with her answer and poor me, all my answer are wrong as i didnt know to take proper log and antilog function. Finally lucky me got the answers corrected with her help. School days are such a interesting phase. Even the Model exams were meant to be a team work. A lot of skills were required to do that though. One such exam if i remember correctly it's physics exams we copied as a group. Bharathy Humera Surekha Arun Jagan Sunil Dinesh and ofcourse myself. Best part is even after copying we got only 60. Never bothered model exams were just a time pass.

Chalk piece Fight, Pen game, Flames, Bingo, Fun all around always. Never actually enjoyed being SPL, Class Leader or a topper but enjoyed the captaincy of my cricket team. The weekends were always filled with cricketing moments. Straight Ball Arun, Fast Bowler Jagan, Leg side Sagar, Mano, Length Bowler Yuvraj, Spin ball shankar, opener Arunachellam and much more. Running between wicket, catching a stunner, hitting a six, taking a clean bowled, fight between the overs, last over tension, Losing the match, those sarbath and lemon juice. It was an excellent journey of cricket which made our childhood so special right from Pepsi ball, Win Ball, Stumper, rubber cork till playing the leather ball. Rather the winning matches, losing matches gave us lot of memories.Still remember playing that paper ball cricket with my friends Arun, Jagan, Mano, Yuvraj and getting caught.Never maintained any junior senior relationship infact i never remember any juniors calling me "Anna". People are so jovial.

Each and everyone of them enjoyed my friendship. Staffs liked my presence for making class lively. Sometimes hates me for more talkative and naughty things which I did. Never argued much of doubts or for marks but argued a lot for not giving PT session. Didn't enjoy much playing volleyball but enjoyed playing our style Rugby with volleyball. Always hard work paid, Creativity was appreciated, Skill was recognised, Trust, Care, Love, Empathy, Friendship, Promise everything had meaning.Life was so easy.
